Panzerballet - Panzerballet
Written by Ash Brown

Woah!!! Panzerballet!!! Ah, you can tell a lot by a bands name. Or can you... I expected to have my ears ripped off and shoved up my arse with the heaviest of heavy metals. I was expecting Rammstein on speed, Warlock on angeldust or even The Scorpions on a moped.

Instead, what we have here are 9 hot jazz funking tracks that hit you right between the eyes like a Chili Peppers sock filled with a member of the Chili Peppers.

Many of the tracks fairly groove along, though my favourite Aspirin Smoke adds some menacing metal riffing.

So, whilst I can't, even for a second, pretend to you that heavy jazz funk rock is my cup of tea, I found this an enjoyable and challenging album.

Check out the bands website www.panzerballett.de and their www.myspace.com/panzerballett where you can listen to a few samples.
