When Sir Clive took his Caamora show out on the Polish Highway last year, someone had the foresight to set up a video camera or two and record the whole shebang for the rest of us that couldn't be there!
The show starts off with the unusual scene setting Overture which has the feel of a Kate Bush music video from the 70's about it, before reverting to the more usual stage performance.
The evening is filmed to Metal Mind's usual high standard at their favourite venue, the Teatr Slaski in Katowice.
I've reviewed the studio album elsewhere, so it just needs me to tell you that the stage version, which features the extra track The Hermit, really brings it to life, with the major players, Clive, Alan Reed, Agnieszka Swita and Xtina Magenta putting in both powerful and brave displays.
The stage looks well set up with orchestra, choir and musicians on either side while the main action takes place in the middle and at the front. At the rear is a big screen where cut scenes and background images are shown, including the disturbing climax.
My only criticism would be that without knowing the story, it may be a bit confusing. I guess someone at Metal Mind thought the same, as there is a guide to each of the acts in the accompanying booklet. Maybe it would have been an idea to have had a narrator involved, though it may have slwoed the action down, like video replays in football would.
Onto the booklet, and as mentioned it contains a guide as well as some decent photos.
The DVD also contains a Making of... film which is an interesting look behind the scenes on the evening, and features interviews with Clive, Aggie, Alan, Xtina "Medicinal Purposes Only" Booth, John Jowitt as well as a smattering of locals.
There is also the obligatory slide show, desktop backgrounds and biographies.
If you can get over the idea of two stunnas such as Aggie and Xtina fighting over Clives body - surely there's enough for all then this is excellent viewing for everyone.
Not to mention Clive and Alan wearing make-up. And acting! Gosh!!
