The Robin, Bilston

Image Hi there,

Our first gig (wow, love saying that!) of 2008 was great one, but before that, we had nothing to wear for it. Marie said she wasn't going in the buff, so we set out early and headed towards Birmingham bang on 9 am. I was up at 3 am, doing hair, nails, make-up, shower, another shower, you know how it is. When Marie's alarm went off at 6 am, the silly tart still had half of her kebab on her face from the night before. We had a bottle of wine between us, and we talked about the sexy men in prog. Who is left now Marvin Orford is no longer a part in the prog World (or is he??)

We hit the road and our hands hurt us for a while, the gig (yeah!) was calling us, and we made great time to get to Bermingham (that's how the locals say it). Was dying for a wee so we stopped off at a service station. Saw two guy's wearing IQ shirts in there, having some lard we waved and they didn't wave back for some reason. So we grabbed two bottles of water and some low fat grub, and we got back to Marie's Micra only to find someone had reversed into the side of it. I told Marie that if she had parked between the lines and not half over the exit slip road that wouldn't have happened. But still, Marie is getting a new car soon, she is having that new Fiat 500, proper nice!!

Anyway, got to Bermingham and found a park and ride into the city centre, so we headed towards the shops. Plenty of sales around, Marie had the wind, but we had no ships.

After 5 hours shopping, we spent a bomb, I got a nice little pale blue number, with white frilly collar and cuffs, some white leggings and some nice blue stiletto's. Marie got a new pair of jeans and a red low cut top, she decided against a skirt this time (see our last review ;-) ) because she got drunk! Got to the gig (yippee) and we went straight to the loos to get changed!

Image Lights went down and bang, IQ were onstage bursting into Nervous and Awake. It was a good choice to get the gig (wow) started. Marie wanted a wee, so we got our handbags from off the floor and went to the loo. I didn't want to go, but I managed a little one. They played that long one, and one bloke went out for pie and chips, and he came back, and the band were still playing it.

Speaking of the band, they have a cheeky Charlie chappie on keyboards now, Marie tried to get some photos, but some bloke was bouncing around in front of her, but she got some as you can see. The band played two new songs which I can't remember what they were called, but we all had a good jump around when It Stops On Here was played. I took my shoes off as my feet hurt like Tommy Tuck and trod on Marie's handbag. I broke her moby too, so it wasn't a great day for her at all, but she said after seeing the new boy on keyboards, it made her day.

So that was that, I was going to write some more, but I've got to pop out for some more shampoo, as I'm having my hair cut a little bit after work tomorrow.

Take care you lot, Marie sends her love too,

Jo and Marie xx.
