Ardency - Dear Human
Written by Charlie O'Mara

Ok, straight in and no messing about! That's how I like my reviews, so that's what I'm going to do. None of this 'Ardency are a young band from Nottingham who have previously released an untitled EP as well as playing loads of gigs in the Midlands and beyond' from me. Apart from that bit, of course.

The album, to me, sounds a lot like Porcupine Tree from their Stupid Dream era, or maybe the mellower parts of In Absentia, loads of melodic, drifting, atmospheric prog, drawing you into each song.

Charlie played Visceral Surgery on Silhobbit Podcast #17 so you should all know what the sound is like. I also reckon that this is the standout track on the album, along with Descending.

The best part about it, except the music, is that you can get the damn thing for just a fiver from their website at www.ardency.co.uk or even on their MySpazz page what is www.myspace.com/ardency1

The band are playing at Junktion 7 in Nottingham on November 11th.
