Darwin's Radio - Pictures EP
Written by Charlie O'Mara
Image

Darwin's Radio, for the uninitiated, are currently made up from former Grey Lady Down members Sean Spear and Mark Westworth, along with Spirit of Rush members Declan Burke and Tim Churchman. This EP was, however, recorded back in 2003 (by Robert John Godfrey at his The Lodge studio) and back then they had Dave Pankhurst on drums.

Having seen them live recently, I feel that this EP, though containing the strong tracks Pictures, Tidal Waves and Windows To Your Soul, doesn't do the band justice!

Sure, it's well played and well recorded, but the production lacks the punch of their live set. You can catch the band at The Fleece in Bristol on Thursday March 23rd, where they'll be supporting Credo and Crimson Sky.

The band are currently working on their first album Eyes Of The World which promises to be a stunner.

This EP is still available from the bands website for only £4, so it is a bargain. Get it here
