Pilgrym - Pilgrimage
Written by Nicholas Butt

This album is what this website was made for! This is classic British progressive rock. It has the fantasy artwork and the music to match.

Pilgrym have produced a very respectable nine-songed album which clocks in 5 minutes shy of an hour.

Basically they are a four piece (with a couple of extras). Andy Wells (vocals, guitar, bass, keyboards) and Tony Drake (vocals, guitars) appear to be the main men, with Kev Mulvihill (drums), Ol Drake (extra bass n guitar) and Jools Slater (flute).

The keyboards will appeal to old school proggers with moogs 'n' melotrons-a-plenty.

In places they remind me of Alan Parsons Project and sometimes I'm feeling Steve Hackett's 'Voyage of the Acolyte'.

It sounds like this fine band can kick some live ass too, with a crowd busting track added at the end of the CD

In summery Pilgrym are a fine band, not ground breaking but well worth seeing live and well worth checking out.

You can buy the CD from www.holyground.co.uk or even visit the bands website at www.pilgrym.co.uk

The band are currently in the studio, working on the follow-up The Great Divide
