Credo - Rhetoric
Written by Wilcey

This is an album I have been listening to since the gig with Arena early last month, and I tell you IT ROCKS... big time!!!

Over 65 minutes of pleasurable, thought provoking prog!

Fronted by Mark Coltman, Credo seem to have had a 'challenging' history, an have overcome some mighty hurdles in the production of Rhetoric, but give it a listen, and you would never know!

This is a well produced, great sounding album.

Mark's voice is reminiscent of a young Fish (without the Scottish accent tho!!!!) Mike Varty (Janison Edge, Landmarq) adds some sublime keyboard sounds, with some tight and effective work from Jim Murdoch on bass and Martin Meads on drums, but for my money, the real masterpiece with this is the vocal, and the guitar work from Tim Burrell. Boy, can Tim make that guitar sing!

The two part epic From the Cradle... & ...to the Grave is spectacular, I don't want to harp on, but the guitar in this piece is fabulous, (think Mike Oldfield's sound ) and the melody, lyric and vocal from Mark brings something really special to the whole thing... add to that some haunting backing vocals's from Sam Collins... WOWSER!

I could rabbit on all day, I won't because you need to go find yourself a copy and not be reading this!

This is a wonderful musical journey to take, and I really think you are missing something if you don't get on the bus soon!

Off you go then, get yourself a copy of RHETORIC, I am sure you wont be disappoint! Copies can be bought from F2 records or go to the Credo website, where you can check out some samples too!

Line-up
Mike Varty (keyboards)
Martin Meads (drums)
Tim Burrell (guitar)
Jim Murdoch (bass)
Mark Colton (vocals)
