| Word has just reached us here at Silhobbition Towers that
Jadis have hit stirring waters. Again. Sources close to the band (Gary)
told me that "I've sacked those three lazy Buggers". When
probed further, he told me to go away and mind my own business!
Digging deeper into the mire, I enventually oncovered the facts behind the fiction. It seems that a heated discussion at rehersals a couple of days ago erupted into violence. One member of the band, who doesn't wish to be named, told me that "It was during the song 'Reflection of a Reflection'. Gary could never play it properly, and Trev told him so. Well Gary didn't take to this very well, and called him something quite rude. At this point Mark got up and stormed out." Tempers had been running high since the 'buns' incident several weeks ago. It's also thought that Gary was hacked off with Pete and Marks solo project 'Ultraworld', which they are spending some time on, with the help of Steve Rothery (Marillion). When you add to that the fact theat Trev Dawkins is seriously considering joining Marillions road crew as keyboard roadie, perhaps the spilt was inevitable. I caught up with Pete as he was leaving a sex-shop in Soho. He told me that he was releasing the Video that was shot at their Marquee gig last year, and he also had plans to release an album consisiting of the John Acock material, and some of the other stuff they'd recorded over the last few years. So stay tuned for that, lads. Gary has since told me that the Jadis name will carry on with his old time buddies Marvin Orford on keys, Ledge Marshall on bass and Paul Cook or Mark Rideout banging the skins. They'll be playing at The Royal Standard on September 8th. Ironically, the same night, they're supposed to be featured on the Friday Rock Show as part of the Rock War. So go and see them, and then ring up and vote for the buggers! Long live PROG'n'ROLL!!! by Rael Pointer |
