ARK SIGN MAJOR AMERICAN EVANGELIST RECORD DEAL!

Ex REGRESSIVE rock band ARK have now signed on the dotted line, for the American record ccmpany, "Great Union of Loyal Loving Icons to the Blessed Lord Enterprises". Reports that the American executives believed the band to be a religious band or like MARILLION, were unfounded as we went to press.

PETE WHlEATLEY, quitarist with the band and a recent student of Wolverhampton Polytechnic, was quoted as saying 'Schools cut forever"

ANT SHORT, vocals and flautist, comented on the event, "It was a grand day, top 'ole in fact. We get loads of dash just for singing a few songs, which sounds like MARILLION's. Though there is a small clause in the contract that's a bit dubious. It says we can't play "Monkey on a Stick" live anymore, as it's a bit risque, I mean come on who's plonker are they trying to pull". (I'rn saying nothing !) ED.

Bassist GEL was seen to be rather jubilent, his reaction to the news was "Great, yeah brillant, mega absolutely, fantastic yeah".

STEVE HARRIS spoke to us about the length of his latest synth guitar rack, but failed to make any comet on this wonderfull signing. When pushed for a reaction, his response was "Really? l'll have to buy a new guitar synth then. The one I really like, is the one that sounds like MIKE HOLMES guitar!"

ARK are of to salt Lake City in the USA, to record the album, despite ardent requests to keep their Black Country sound on home turf. No yet title for the album has been accepted, but drummer PAUL RODGERS was willing to tell us that Ark, would be using monosyllabic working titles such as "VILLA" and "KEBAB".

Many thanks to ARK for the interview. (SILHOBIT)
