Coltsfoot
"A Winters Harvest"

Landing on my doormat just in time to make this issue, is the new album by Coltsfoot. Entitled "A Winters Harvest", it's their first for 7 years! Seven bloody years and they've still only managed to write lyrics for 4 of the songs! By God, lazy hippies or what! Probably been sitting around smoking dope and watching UK GOLD for the last 5 years!

Anyway, I think this album is a big steaming pile of brilliant music. Brilliant, definitely. Calm, relaxing and soothing, yes. Challenging, undoubtedly. Purple with pink spots, perhaps.

Yes, this is great as a sort of background music, though it never quite sits in the background, always prodding at the (un)willing listener like an attentative child. The band, that's old Rog Patterson, Geoff Proudly and Steve Martin all perform well. The addition of Steve Wilson on a couple of tracks double the progability rating of this.
