Hello people out there, I am the father of Joanne Kinghorn, and my name is Mike. Our Joanne has been going to a few concerts and she has had some nice music what she has been sent through the post. I have liked everything she has been sent, great stuff. She asked me to have a go at reviewing this for you Silhobbit people, so I thought I would try.
Right then, I have played this all the way through and it reminds me of Yes. Now, I saw Yes way back in 1971, and again in 1972, and this has taken me back to that period. Garden Of Dreams is longer than any Yes record, apart from Tales From Topographic Oceans which is two records and four sides, and Yessongs but that is live and three records. In The Eyes Of The World is a nice foot tapping rock track, reminds me of the band I was in during the late 1960's Earthmover we were called, I played bass in those days. I must say, the bass player in The Flower Kings is a bit good, makes me look like a beginner. The bass and drum solo track is very good too, very good playing and nice to hear that this band can keep very good time, better than this chart rubbish of today. Circus Brimstone again is good, but I really like the Led Zeppelin track I am The Sun with it's Kashmir heavy type riff through it. Yes, our Joanne is a busy girl these days ever since her and her friend Marie got going to these concerts. I thought the 1970's had died, but on this CD, it has either returned or it has been quiet. I like it very much, nearly as good as Yes. |
