The Scottish legends return with a new offering and follow up to their previous album.

These boys were poised for the big time with an EMI deal and a high expectation that never really happened. Their masterpiece album is the fantastically pompous 'The Sentinel'' a massive sound with grand and full use of the mellotron which gave orchestral magnificence. The Cross and the Crucible is not as epic as the aforementioned classic, but it will keep the Pallas faithful happy and mean that gigging will follow.

The production on this is CD is not as good as it could be. At times it is too brash/tinny. I'd like a fatter bass and less reverb next time please!
