Porcupine Tree
"Moonloop"
CD Single

Not many prog band have the bottle to release a single these days. IQ and Pendragon used to, but UK's greatest prog band of recent years were brave enough to put out a CD single and they even had the balls to include 18 minute stormer Moonloop.

The first track entitled Stars Die is a wonderfully mid-floydian work of art. Very laid back and mellow, with a stylish vocals and floydy-spacey guitar solo. All the musicians work very well together and although the vocals are usually sparse, when he does sing it really works. The second track, Moonloop, is another classic and lasting 18 minutes it makes it difficult to review, I can only say that it is brilliant. Buy it and you'll know what I mean.

This is the best release of the year.

Porcupine Tree are bringing out a new album next year (Feb 3rd) and neither of these tracks will be featured. The band must play Stars Die when they do another live session on Radio One in January.
