Jadis

Herringthorpe Leisure Centre, Rotherham

13 July 2002

So this makes it two gigs in two weeks for me. I missed the support band, but my friend Chris liked them.

I've seen Jadis a few times before and I think that in Gary Chandler they have a wonderful front man. That's not to say his guitar work isn't excellent, because it is, or that his singing is bad, because it isn't. But his interaction with the crowd sets him apart from others. Of course this is complimented by John Jowitt on bass as well.

I can't remember exactly what songs they played, though G13 was one, as was Wonderful World, As Daylight Fades, Where In The World and Beginning and the End

They played at least one new song, the title of which I didn't catch (sorry) before leaving the stage, only to return to play Old and Wise, another new song, and the wonderful Holding your Breath which brought the curtain down on a famous evening in a fine way indeed.

I think I can safely speak for all the crowd when I say that we wound our way home very happy indeed. Come back soon!
