I went out to Zoetermeer
Near the Den Haag / Dutch shoreline
To catch some decent prog music
I didn't catch in London town
Steve Wilson and the Blackfield
Were playing at the Boerderij
But I met some gorgeous Dutch girl
And nearly missed the whole damn show

We had a smoke in the
cafe, staring at the sky
Smoke in the cafe
We rushed into the concert house
We heard a progressive sound
The Blackfield boys were already on
Nodding kids were all around

When it was all over
We had time for another smoke
But my Euros were running out
And I was smashed off my face
We had a smoke in the cafe, staring at the sky
Smoke in the cafe
We ended up at the Dutch girls house
We were tired, cold and bare
But with the cats jumping on our legs all the time
We made our sweet music there

We turned off the lights
and got into bed
We made a place to sweat
No matter what we get out of this
I know I'll never forget
Smoke in the cafe, staring at the sky
Oh, and I heard that Pure Reason
Revolution played a storming set too! |
