| My first concert by IQ was most enjoyable,
and having not been put on the guest list as promised, I had to fork out
12 pounds out of my student loan to see this lot. I have never heard of
them before, and after seeing various bands like Mew, The
Editors and Oceansize, these old codgers could certainly
rock. I got near to the front, but I had to wear my ear plugs as the guitarist had a loud sound. I'm not sure of the songs they played, but I heard someone say Falling Safe was the first one. I found a fiver on the floor, so I went into the bar during the second song and got a pint of lager as there was a song called Stopping Here and during this song several people were shouting 1 2 3 4. I thought the drummer was the time keeper, but I think the crowd were reminding the band about keeping time. I think the drummer looked the youngest I would say, while all the rest were showing their age. One song Seven Homes went on a bit for my liking, but as there pictures of the first world war on the screens, I could fathom out what it meant. I heard Postman Pat too, along with my dads favourites Status Quo with Caroline. Many of the crowd were a lot older than me and I think they enjoyed it. I did also, but next time, I'll make sure I have heard some material. This was a good nights gig, but very new to me I'm afraid, so I wonder where I will get sent next? by Nathan Collins. |
