We left the house at 5am and got about 5 miles outside of Dover and the clutch burnt out from John's new car! As we were on a very tight schedule the only thing to do was get John at an airport and do the gig himself. So Ben (guitar tech) and John got dropped at Heathrow and Martin and I got the rest of our gear back to reading before going out and getting hammered. I understand John got quite hammered as I kept getting text messages telling me all night.

Still the AA got all the gear back from Dover to reading just in time for opening hours! Above and beyond the call of duty if you ask me. I'd say that the AA really are the fourth emergency service although as Martin points out the Coast Guard do a very good job too!

John played the same set he'd done earlier at the Mean Fiddler and went down a storm according to eye witnesses.
